My name is Charlie Ernst (she/her/hers), and I am originally from Big Sky Montana, but call Vero Beach, Florida home. I am currently studying at the University of Denver and majoring in Psychology & Communications with a minor in Leadership. I just graduated from Vero Beach High School where I was involved on and off-campus in things such as Dance Marathon and Give Back for Special Equestrians. Community service is something I prioritize and am involved in any chance I get. Beyond this, I have spent a lot of time working with kids in many capacities such as being a tutor, summer camp counselor, dance teacher, and nanny among other things. I hope to further this passion by continuing my schooling and am very interested in a few graduate programs that would allow me to get my Ph.D. and/or J.D.
The Arts are something that I have been passionate about my whole life. I enjoy creating physical art in the form of sculptures and paintings/drawings of which some have been featured in Galleries and sometimes used as auction items raising in one case raising $15,000 during a call to action night. I also have been involved in dance since I was two years old. I was trained mostly in ballet, but also really love tap and jazz. While I don't dance as much as I would like to anymore, I try my best to go to the Ballet and watch local recitals when I can. I also love music and am a huge fan of concerts. I love all genres of music and have been to concerts including Adele, Elton John, Khalid, Post Malone, and many more.
After contemplating many design and architecture programs and applying to many schools, I am very confident in my decision to attend The University of Denver. I believe that this school will further my education and provide an enriching environment for me to grow and learn.
