  • My Teaching Interests and Approach

    • My expertise centers on teaching mental health and health-related courses

     

    • I have taught courses that focus on suicide assessment and intervention; formulating a psychiatric diagnosis; the process of using research evidence to inform practice decisions; and linear and categorical statistical analysis.

     

    • Although my teaching is informed by several approaches, I tend to favor the VARK model. Recognizing that students have different learning styles, the VARK encourages the delivery of content through all of the senses (see figure to the right).
