  • ID’s/Passes/Access

    • I heard that DU offers a student RTD pass, but I didn’t get one. Where do I go for that?
      • Sometimes the ID office forgets to offer an RTD pass when they give you your Pioneer ID Card. If they forget, just go back and ask for it. Just remember that it is only active while you are a fulltime student.

    • I don’t have access to certain buildings (i.e. Daniels/Korbel/Fritz) before business hours. How do I go about getting added to the access roster so that I can use my Pioneer ID on the doors?
      • You’ll need to talk to the access manager for that building. If you get directly admitted during the Winter Quarter, it is easy to fall into the cracks of the system and not be added to the access rosters. If you are having issues, contact the ID Office (303-871-4545) and they’ll get you in contact with the appropriate party.

    • DU never activated my meal plan to my Pioneer ID card. What should I do?
      • Contact the Pioneer ID Card Office (303-871-4545) and they should work it out for you.

    • Do I need a parking pass? If so, where can I find one?
      • There is no free parking on campus, and all side streets are limited to 1 hour parking. Students are encouraged to use sustainable forms of transportation (RTD, light rail, bus) to get to class. If you need a parking pass, you can find one online (https://www.du.edu/parking/permits/) or at the parking and mobility office (2130 S. High St.)
      • Unofficial advice: parking passes can be expensive, so there are options to park in 1 or 2 hour parking in neighborhoods. The parking tickets cost $25 (additional tickets will also be $25). Park at your own risk.

    Admin Issues

    • How do I petition for credit if DU did not accept the transfer credit from my previous institution?
      • We highly encourage you to petition for credit that DU did not accept! There are instructions on how to do this listed on this website under Transfer Resources, then Registration and Advising. Follow the instructions for how to Appeal/Re-evaluate credit.

    • DU offered me a merit scholarship, but they still have not applied it to my tuition balance and classes have already started. What do I do about that?
      • You can either email the financial aid office (finaid@du.edu) as well as your admission counselor, but if they are slow to respond, we would recommend calling the financial aid office (303-871-4020)

    • I am coming in as a Winter/Spring transfer and I would like to sign up for the Student Healthcare Plan. Will I have to pay for the entire year?
      • No, because you are coming in mid-academic year, they will prorate your insurance bill.
      • You may need to go to the DU Health Center in person to sign some documents in person.

    Social Life

    • How do I join different clubs/groups/sports at DU?
      • You can check out the Crimson Connect webpage https://crimsonconnect.du.edu/home_login where many different clubs and organizations are listed. For Greek Life involvement, you can also email the chapter or chapters you are interested in directly in order to get connected.
