  • Presentation Date & Time: Fall 2018 presentations will take place on Friday, November 16, 2018 between 10am and 2pm in the Margery Reed Building, 2306 E Evans Ave, Denver, CO 80208. Winning teams will receive $500 prizes.

A full schedule is at the bottom of this page.

Presentation Awards & Reception: A concluding reception for all participating students, judges, faculty and university stakeholders will take place from 2-3pm on Friday, Nov. 16th (location TBD). During the reception three winning teams selected by the judging panels will be awarded $500 prizes to be shared amonst participating team members.

Presentation Materials: All teams should prepare materials in PowerPoint or PDF format and submit their presentation slides through a provided link in their Canvas section by 11:59pm on Thursday, Nov 15th so that they can be loaded onto a common computer in each presentation room prior to the presentations. Teams wanting to show contents from their Portfolio site are encouraged to include screenshots in their presentations to eliminate the need for switching applications or relying on internet connectivity.

Presentation Format & Rubric: 10 minutes for group presentation, 5 minutes for Q&A from judges. This will be followed by 5 minutes to allow for transition between teams and judge scoring. Teams will be evaluated on four criteria, each with an equal weighting of 25%:

    1. Problem Identification, Analysis & Focus. How well does the team understand the problem & system?  How well has the team defined a specific and realistic area of need (demographic/geographic/industry)?

    2. Strength & Sustainability of Value Proposition. What is the value of the solution being proposed? How well does the team’s solution concept fit within the broader stakeholder environment and system? Is the team's plan plan with sufficient organizational skills and partnerships and a way to generate sufficient funds?

    3. Public Good Impact – What impact on the public good has the team demonstrated to date and how much potential future impact could be expected from their proposed implementation plan?

    4. Presentation Style & Q&A. Were the presenters engaging & professional? Did the team adequately and completely answer the questions asked by the judges? Did they wisely use the time to present additional informative material or data? Did they address questions directly, or defensively? Did they exhibit “poise” under questioning?

A link to a Word document version of this rubric is below. Any questions about the final presentation event can be directed to your section instructor.
