  • Published MIDI Files for Use in Studio Teaching, Rehearsal, and Performance

    I create Music Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) files of musical ensemble works that include piano parts.  The files are intended to be used in studio teaching, rehearsal, and performance.  Using these MIDI files and an automated-accompaniment system (a hardware/software system that enables a computer performer to synchronize in real time with a human performer), a live pianist can perform with the other parts of an ensemble work as performed by the computer performer by way of electronic instrument patches that have been created, through sampling technology, to allow close emulation of acoustic instruments.  The creation of the MIDI files involves the molding of musical interpretations through the intricate programming of longitudinal dynamic shapes, vertical dynamic balances, rhythm durations, legato articulations, staccato articulations, variations in attack and release, vibrato, tempos and tempo changes, and the like, for all of the accompanying instrument parts of the ensemble.  Thus far, I have published the following such MIDI files:
