About Me
-
Hi! I'm Luke Fish, otherwise known as... well, Luke. I'm a born-and-raised Coloradoan who has moved to the University of Denver to study psychology to work towards my goal to become a therapist. I am a music and concert lover, a film enjoyer a writer who never writes (but who has been published!), an actor in musical theatre, and a lover of animals. The big beast to the site is called Lyra, and before you ask, yes she is a very good girl.
Growing up in Colorado has been a wonderful experience for me. I've also had the fortune to travel much of the contiguous United States, and hit Hawaii and Alaska, too. This has instilled what I'm assuming is a lifelong travel bug that I absolutely don't have the funds to satiate, so instead, I love to explore the nooks and crannies of the places that I live in. This exploration of the world around me has lead to a strong desire to understand that which I discover, henceforth fostering a love for learning and understanding the world I inhabit and the people and systems that I interact with.
Two other important pieces of my identity are my advocacy for both the arts and for social justice, which are both things that I believe have the power to change the world. My background and experiences in theatre have been integral to formulating my identity, and my other identities have been integral for my continued education within the realm of social justice. Along with wanting to be a therapist to help others, I am committed to doing what I can to help dismantle the systems of oppression and injustice that we live under in America, and helping to promote equity for the marginalized and disenfranchised.
