• About David
David Aguiar received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell's College of Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. During his undergraduate career, David held multiple student leadership positions that curated and directed his passion for Higher Education. David served as an Orientation Leader, Campus Tour Guide, Resident Advisor, and worked in the Office of Multicultural Affairs as a RISE Scholar where he began assessing the current resources available for students of the LGBTQ+ community. After graduating, David went on to serve as the Campus Tour Coordinator for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at his alma mater before moving to Denver, CO in 2019. David is currently a first year graduate student at the University of Denver where he is pursuing his M.A. in Higher Education. In addition, David currently serves as the Graduate Resident Director for Johnson-McFarlane Hall under Housing & Residential Education for his Graduate Assistantship.

    Purpose of the Portfolio

The purpose of this portolfio is to share and reflect upon the projects, experiences, papers that I have completed during the Higher Education program at the University of Denver. Although I have recently finished my first quarter within the program, I am currently figuring out as to what path I will move towards as a Student Affairs professional. I am also hoping that this portfolio will help to deliver an answer to that question as I continue my program for the next two years and reflect on future assignments. I also want to be able to see my growth throughout the program, not only within my skills as a researcher and writer, but in my professional and personal development.

The current individual pages for my portolio include:
About Me, Intro to Higher Education Course Reflection, and NASPA Core Competencies. Although I am still learning about the NASPA Core Competencies and am assessing myself, I wanted to include frequent updates on this page as I progress throughout the Higher Education program and my assistantship within Housing & Residential Education (HRE).
