  • How to Get Involved

    Pioneer Carnival

    The Pioneer Carnival is a great way to get involved. It is at the beginning of the year and all of the school clubs set up tables so people can learn about things they’re interested in.

    Greek Life

    Sorority and Fraternity life is another excellent way to find community. Through fraternities and sororities you can get involved in philanthropy work, meet lifelong friends, build your resume, and get involved on campus. DU offers six sorority chapters and eight fraternity chapters. The sorority chapters include, ΑΔΧ • ΑΦ • ΧΩ• ΔΔΔ • ΔΓ • ΔΖ • ΓΦΒ. Fraternity chapters include AΓΩ, ΒΘΠ , ΔΧ , ΛΧΑ, ΠΚΦ, ΣΧ, ΘΧ, ΖΒΤ. Upon joining a fraternity or sorority you will be required to attend a new member meetings until your chapters initiation, all new members must attend. The length and time of these meetings vary depending on the chapter. You will also be required to attend formal chapter where all members meet to discuss upcoming events and operations of the chapter.

    Intramural sports

    There are 23 Intramural Leagues here at DU so, get your roommates and classmates together and create an IM sports team. IM teams are a great way to stay active, take a break from school work and get to know people. Each week there are IM sport games on various evenings during the week depending on the sport! Bonding with teammates is a great way to make friends and meet new people. If you feel like you can’t get enough people on board, become a free agent and other teams will pick you up.     Club Sports

    For those who want a more competitive and committed athletic opportunity here at DU there is 29 club sports. Club sports are a great way to find a community and meet people through your team. Some teams do require a try out or previous experience, but if that is not for you there is IM sports as an alternative. Club sports tend to practice a few times a week and have games, some club sports even have the opportunity to travel and compete.     Clubs

    DU has over 100 registered student organizations in which anyone is welcome to join! Clubs are a great way to meet people and continue taking part in your hobbies/interests outside of classes. Certain clubs also provide opportunities for community service and leadership roles. There is a wide variety in the types of clubs that take place on campus. From the First Edition Women’s Acapella group to the Harry Potter Storytime club, there is a club for everyone at DU to find their place and people with common interests.
