Welcome to my portfolio page! I am currently a graduate student in the Physics and Astronomy Department at the University of Denver working with Dr. Jennifer Hoffman and our collaborator Dr. Grant Williams, director of the MMT Observatory. I graduated with a BS from San Diego State University in 2006, where I studied astronomy and mathematics.
I use optical spectropolarimetry to study the interaction between the ejecta of core collapse supernovae and any surrounding hot, dense circumstellar material given off by the progenitor star prior to explosion. This will enable us to identify key characteristics of the progenitors and gain a better understanding of which types of massive stars produce the different subclasses of supernovae we observe.
