      The Josef Korbel School Office of Career and Professional Development envisions that graduates will develop the life-long skills needed to define and realize their career goals, gain practical experience, and will stay connected to the Josef Korbel School.

      Our Mission:
      Your education is one of the most important investments you'll ever make. The Office of Career and Professional Development deploys a depth of experience and knowledge to help you develop the career tools you need to succeed. We seek to enhance your career success by providing:

      • Career education through courses, workshops, events, and resources;
      • Professional development through career coaching and opportunities to pursue practical experience;
      • Opportunities for connections between students, alumni and employers through targeted and proactive marketing and relationship management.

      Through our services, we strive for students to be able to:

      • Define career plans;
      • Demonstrate career search and application skills defined as writing resumes, cover letters, statements, analyzing position descriptions and interviewing as well as practice self-presentation, networking skills & professionalism;
      • Extend classroom learning and apply career-relevant skills through experiential learning.

      Academic Year Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
      Drop-In Hours: Monday & Wednesday 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m., Tuesday & Thursday 1:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m.

  • Advising & Appointments

    • To schedule an advising appointment (matriculated Josef Korbel graduate students and alumni only): email korbelcareers@du.edu, stop by the Anna and John J. Sie International Relations Complex Suite 1005 during business hours,or call our office at (303) 871-4490.

      MBTI & Strong Interest Inventory (SII) Assessments: OCPD staff are trained in administering and interpreting these personality and career-related assessments. MBTI is incorporated into Careers 101, but to schedule an individual interpretation, please contact the OCPD for more information. Note: there is a $30 fee for the MBTI and a $20 fee for the SII.

  • Where to Find What: Portfolio and Korbel Careers

    • As of November 28, 2016 students will be transferring from using Korbel Careers to Pioneer Careers to search for jobs and internships, view and RSVP for events, and upload resumes and cover letters. However, please note that Korbel students will continue to register and manage internships in Korbel Careers. If you have any questions about the transition from Korbel Careers to Pioneer Careers please contact the OCPD at 303-871-4490 or korbelcareers@du.edu.

      The Korbel Careers Portfolio is maintained for Josef Korbel graduate students and alumni and is where you will find career resources including workshop and career course documents, tip sheets, OCPD webinar presentations, etc.  Most of the resources on this site are only viewable to Josef Korbel students and alumni after logging in.

      Pioneer Careers is password protected and is used for information exchange between our staff and Josef Korbel students and alumni.  Use PioneerlCareers to:

      • Submit your resume for review and receive feedback
      • Opt into resume books
      • Search for jobs and internships
      • RSVP for OCPD events

      PLEASE NOTE that KorbelCareers will still be the platform for internship management moving forward.

    • Our dedicated professional staff bring varied experiences and viewpoints, supporting students through every stage of their career development. For more information about each staff member's background, visit the main Korbel School website. In addition to five professional staff members, the office is staffed by nine student staff members who provide peer advising, event and administrative support.
