I am a Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelors of Arts in Spanish, as well as a minor in Physics. At the University of Denver, academic interests range from 3D Modeling (TurboCAD, SolidWorks) to cartography of crypto-Judaism. I am particularly interested in applying STEM related topics and fields to humanity based topics (languages, literatures, art, music, etc.). Before my journey at the University of Denver, I worked at an Air & Space camp (ages 8-12) at Wings Over the Rockies. I was able to base workshops off of famous females in STEM, bring awareness to minorities in the aeronautical field, and tailor workshops/activities to target STEM interest. I am looking forward to applying my interests and experiences with STEM interest to schools that do not have a strong STEM foundation.
Hey everyone! I'm a senior at the Univeristy of Denver majoring in Mechanical Engineering. On campus, I'm a resident assistant, a member of the Latinx Student Alliance, a work-study for the office of special programs, and president of Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity Incorporated. I was born and raised in Southwest Denver where I attended Grant Beacon Middle School and Abraham Lincoln High School. Growing up I loved math and science but now that I have time to reflect on my education, I realize there wasn't any clubs or afterschool programs that allowed me to explore this interest. I love to work with youth, and through my fraternity, we have a mentorship program at 2 high schools. We also plan a youth conference for underrepresented/ low-income students in hope to get students of color interested in post-secondary education. I am excited to bring together my passion for working with youth and STEM for this project.
