Here are some tips to get you started as a new Field Instructor or Task Supervisor
Attend a Basic Field Supervisor Training.
Trainings are held either on the DU campus or online via a self-paced module platform. You can view the available dates/times and sign up HERE.
Review the Field Calendar.
Calendars can be found on the "Calendars" tab on the left-hand side of navigation pane.
Review the student orientation checklist.
You can access the orientation checklist HERE . Make sure you're prepared to show your intern the ins and outs of your agency on day 1.
Look over the Individualized Field Education Plan (IFEP) and the Competencies and Practice Behaviors documents.
Students will complete an IFEP and share this educational plan with you. The Competencies and Practice Behaviors can be found HERE.
Meet your Field Liaison.
Every student is assigned a Field Liaison who will work to oversee the students learning while in field. It is important to familiarize yourself with this person and build a relationship with them so that you can both work together to support the students' learning.
