• Bio

  • Andrea Stanton is Associate Professor of Islamic Studies and Senior Associate Dean for the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at the University of Denver.

    She is the 2021 Director of the Korbel School's Center for Middle East Studies and an affiliate faculty member there, as well as co-director of the joint RLGS-Korbel graduate certificate in Religion and International Affairs.

    Her research is split between Middle Eastern history/media history and Islamic studies/digital religion. She focuses on the impact of mass and social media on national and social identities in the Middle East and among Muslims around the world. Her teaching introduces the study of Islam to undergraduate and graduate students.
