Welcome & Introduction to Reflection
My Public Identity
I am a citizen who strives to amplify my voice against inequities and social injustices that exist everywhere. Not just in an "if you see something, say something" manner, but in a way that actively seeks change. My experiences at DU, specifically my work with high-need students, English language learners, and legislators, have united my passions in a way that initially seemed disparate. When I dug deeper, I realized that these last four years created the runway that is launching me down a post-grad career path, combining past experiences with my deep-rooted passion for K-12 education in the United States.
On this website I explore a series of artifacts that reflect my public identity as a change agent. Further, they explore how my identity emerged, and how I intend to pursue this identity beyond the University of Denver. For these reasons, I decided to create an interactive, cyclical map (below), because my artifacts showed me how one thing led to another, but that it does not end upon graduation. This ePortfolio opened my eyes to the innate fact that my public identity is constantly developing, helping me become a more refined versions of who I already am, adding experience along the way.
