Please see DU's Latin Honors policies as outlined in the bulletin for more information. It outlines that students qualify for a cum laude distinction with GPA alone, but magna and summa cum laude are jointly determined by GPA and also completion of a "thesis or project" in the student's major. In the Department of Psychology, we consider a variety of experiences as qualifying for Latin Honors:

• Distinction in the major
• Completion of research project funded by Partners in Scholarship (PINS)
• Completion of research project funded as a Summer Research Grant (SRG)
• Presenting a research poster or talk at a conference for a professional society
• Co-authoring a paper with a faculty member submitted to peer-reviewed journal
• Completion of Field Experiences in Psychology sequence (all 3 quarters)
• Completion of a microcredential in Psychology

ELIGIBILITY

Students enrolled in our Distinction (Honors Thesis) program need not take action to be designated for Latin Honors upon graduation.
