These resources are intended to help current and prospective psychology students understand our degree requirements and experiential opportunities.
You can access our anonymous input survey here.
The faculty advisors in the Department of Psychology can help you understand the requirements for the major or minor, choose courses to stay on track to complete the major or minor, or discuss graduate school and career plans.
First year students are primarily advised by the Office of Academic Advising, supported by their First-Year Seminar Instructor. After the first year, students still exploring without a major declared, students on probation or students interested in academic success coaching should contact the Office of Academic Advising.
We recommend that you are advised (in person or by email) before each registration period and at other times during the year, as needed. We recommend that you come to see an advisor in person at least once each academic year.
Although many students prefer to see the same advisor over time, you are able to see any of the four faculty academic advisors who have available appointments. Please make an appointment to see an advisor (see instructions below), as advising hours are the times that these faculty members have dedicated to advising.Advising resources

- Learn how to read your Degree Audit to check your own progress

ADVISORS
If you have an urgent advising question during finals week, or the breaks between these quarters, please email one of the faculty advisers below. We should be able to answer any time-sensitive questions over email, and if the matter cannot wait until the next quarter, we can try to make a special appointment with you.
See instructions below for making an advising appointment online. (Please note: We do not schedule advising appointments during the summer months.)
Please do not contact multiple advisers for the same reason. We discuss many of your questions as a group, so there is no need to contact all of us with the same question, either all at once or separately! Thank you.
For general questions and inquiries, please email psychadvising@du.edu
