My experience with the Ritchie Program for School Leadership dates back to August 2003. The Ritchie Program was new and I had the opportunity to be a Principal Mentor to one of the Fellows. In 2006, I was asked to be an instructor with the Ritchie Program and I accepted without hesitation. The Adams County School District 12 Ritchie cohort began the following year, where I have had the opportunity to be the lead instructor. To be able to participate in the training of visionary, courageous, transformational school leaders is truly an honor.
During my 31 year career in the Denver Public Schools, I held various positions as a teacher, Program Director for a drop out prevention program, Chapter I instructor, Administrative Assistant and Principal. After my retirement, I returned to DPS as a co-creator, instructor and mentor in the AIM Program, a mentoring and induction program for new administrators. I received my BA in Spanish and History from Monmouth College, Monmouth, Illinois, and my MA in Reading Disabilities from the University of Colorado at Denver.
