  • Welcome!

  • The M.A. in Media and Public Communication will equip you with the practical skills, theoretical knowledge, and critical perspective that you need to succeed as an ethical, culturally sensitive, and socially aware communicator. The program will prepare you for dynamic and innovative careers in an increasingly multi-platform and multi-cultural media environment. You will gain a solid conceptual foundation in media and communication studies and will be able to conduct independent research in academic or professional settings.

As a graduate student in Media and Public Communication, you can select one of two concentrations: Media and Globalization or Strategic Communication.  Students in both concentration can choose to complete a master's thesis or an internship as their capstone experience. The thesis option is recommended for students who are interested in pursuing doctoral studies or research-oriented careers.

Our outstanding internship program serves as a unique extension of the classroom. Completing an internship will help you gain valuable experience and will allow you to make professional connections that can benefit you after graduation.
