Lisa Ingarfield

  • Biographical Description

    • I joined the DU GSSW team in May 2013 as the Director of Student and Career Development. My primary roles include student services, advising student government, developing and implementing career services and working with GSSW alumni. I recently graduated with my PhD in Communication Studies from the University of Denver. My dissertation research focused on the negotiation of race, gender, and power for White women sexual violence victim advocates.

Prior to joining GSSW, I established and directed the Gender Violence Education and Support Services Office (now Center for Advocacy, Prevention and Empowerment) at the University of Denver. From there I joined the Auraria community, helping to establish and then direct The Phoenix Center at Auraria (PCA). The PCA provides response, support, and referrals for survivors of gender violence (sexual assault, stalking, dating and domestic violence) and serves students, staff, and faculty from CCD, CU Denver, and MSU Denver.

I currently serve as the Board Chairperson on the board of directors for the Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA).
