The DU Department of Physics and Astronomy is pleased to welcome Dr. Keivan Guadalupe Stassun as its latest Marsico Visiting Scholar. Dr. Stassun is a professor of Physics and Astronomy at Vanderbilt University. He studies star and planet formation and is the founder of the Fisk-Vanderbilt Masters-to-PhD Bridge Program.

Lunch with Students, Wednesday 4/26, 12-1 PM, Olin Rotunda
Undergraduate students are invited to meet and interact with Dr. Stassun. Members of underrepresented groups in science majors may find this event particularly interesting. Pizza will be served! Dr. Stassun will present results from his recent research in a talk titled "Empirical Constraints on the Formation and Evolution of Low-Mass Stars and Brown Dwarfs: A Data-Intensive Approach" (abstract here). Refreshments will be served at 3:50 in Olin 105, and follow-up discussions will take place in the Physics building, room 116, 5-6 PM.
