Substantial Research Paper (SRP) and Independent Study
-
Students interested in completing an Independent Study (INTS/PPOL 4991) or a Substantial Research Paper (INTS 4996) should speak directly to the permanent faculty (aka instructor) they are requesting. Please note there is no requirement for a faculty member to participate in an independent study. So, make sure your requested permanent faculty has agreed prior to submitting any paperwork. Permanent faculty may agree to as many or as few independent study requests as they wish.
If approved, the student will use the Application for Independent Study, Directed Study and Independent Research form in order to register for the credits. The permanent faculty will sign as the instructor and the Degree Director will sign off as the advisor. Both signatures are required before submitting this to the Office of Regsitrar (registrar@du.edu)
The complete details and policies for both SRPs and Independent Studies in your appropriate Handbook.
