  • Eligibility for Program Admission

     

    Eligible applicants to the Equine-Assisted Mental Health Practitioner Certificate program:

    • have a master's or doctoral degree from a mental health-related program (licensed or pre-licensed)*

    OR

    • are currently a graduate student in a mental health-related program*

    AND

    • have prior equine experience**

     

    *Mental health related programs include: clinical social work, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, clinical and counseling psychology, psychiatry, and psychiatric nursing and prepares you to provide psychotherapy as treatment.

    **Equine experience (knowledge and practical experience) is necessary for program admission.

     

    Please contact the EAMH Program Coordinator if you are unsure whether your education and equine experience makes you eligible for the practitioner certificate.
