Dr. Cathryn Potter is the Associate Provost for Research, Executive Director of the Butler Institute for Families, and a Professor in the Graduate School of Social Work. Her areas of research focus on children and families at risk, especially those served in the child welfare, children's mental health and juvenile justice systems. She has a particular interest in minority over-representation and service disparity in child and family serving systems. The Butler institute administers some 30 externally funded grants and contracts at any one time with tribal, local, state, federal and international entities. Current emphases in Butler projects include Tribal child welfare, intervening in organizational culture and climate and implementing large scale system change.
