    • Barbara is Associate Dean of the Daniels College of Business responsible for Working Professionals MBA Programs--Executive MBA and the Professional MBA and also Executive Education.. 

       Barbara’s background transcends more than 30 years in the field of Organizational Development and Strategic Talent Management.  Her background spans numerous industries and business segments including high tech, manufacturing, health care and non profit.   Barbara began her career in the blue collar pulp and paper environment of Northern Wisconsin, and over the years she transitioned to senior roles within Motorola’s Semiconductor Sector, Emerson’s Process Control’s subsidiary, “Fisher Controls International”, and later Dell Computer Corp. where she worked directly with Michael Dell and his executive staff.   As Dell Computer Corporation's Sr. Internal Organizational Development Consultant and Human Resource Strategist, Barbara was involved with numerous corporate initiatives (leadership development, competency identification, organizational human resource planning, staffing and retention). She spent over 11 years with Dell during the years l990 to 2000 when the Company grew from 100 employees to over 40,000 worldwide, and sales increased from $500 million to more than $34 billion.

      Barbara’s academic background consists of a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of Texas at Austin. Her dissertation topic was “Identifying the Drivers of Employee Dissatisfaction and Turnover in High Potential Engineers and IT Professionals”. She has a Masters Degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Texas and conducted extensive study in Employee Motivation and Career Development while a graduate student at Arizona State University. Her undergraduate degree is in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin.

      Barbara has conducted additional research on the following subjects: intergenerational differences at work; enhancing employee productivity and commitment, and executive/managerial derailment.

      A member of the Academy of Management, Society of Human Resource Management, ASTD and the Association of Psychological Type, Barbara is currently a Partner in the management consulting firm, Intergistic Solutions, which has offices in Denver, CO and Austin, TX. In this
      capacity Barbara has continued to work with numerous organizations in the high tech, health care and nonprofit industries.

      Barbara is certified in the use of numerous tools and assessment processes including: Insights Discovery System; MBTI; The Birkman Methodology; Strong Interest Inventory; Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode; Virtual CEO; Side By Side Leadership; Break through Teamwork; Workforce Diversity; and the FIRO B.
