Nicole Parks specializes in museum education, project management, art curation, and collections-based research. She is responsible for the care and curation of The Madden Collection at the University of Denver, which is exhibited at the Madden Museum of Art, a facility she manages that is located off the DU campus in Greenwood Village. CO.

Nicole is passionate about merging art curation, exhibit design, working with students, and the visitor experience; all achieved at the Madden Museum of Art. She teaches the annually offered Curatorial Practicum course which trains students on how to organize an art exhibition from conception and research to design and ultimately implementation.

In 2018, Nicole was hired by the University of Denver to run the programming at the Madden Museum of Art after working as an independent art scholar, curator, and instructor. She worked for private art collections and several public institutions, most notably the Denver Art Museum where she was in the curatorial department of the Petrie Institute of Western American Art. There, Nicole was responsible for every aspect of exhibition, gallery and publication planning and implementation. In addition to curatorial work, Nicole has published several articles about American landscape painting.

As an alumna of the University of Denver’s art history program (MA 2013), Nicole wrote her thesis on the spectator response to a site-specific Venetian cycle of paintings during pandemics and other times of crisis.
