• As a sophomore in PLP, I have the opportunity to work on a year-long community change initative (CCI). For my project, I am working alongside five incredibly talented students on the issue of homelessness. Homelessness is a global issue, but in our local community, it is a very persistant problem. Our team is working to create a comprehensive resource data base that will make it easier for people experiencing homelessness to find resources that are a specific to them. We are also working on humanizing the issue of homelessness, because we have learned through research and personal experience that people experiencing homelessness are seen as criminals or are judged before people even know them. We are looking to humanize homelessness through story telling, because everyone has a story that deserves to be heard and appreciated. We are in the process of connecting with Englewood High School's journalism department, so high school students can become more aware of the issue, as well as work to help people experiencing homelessness in their community.

Above is the link explaining the outcome of our final project. We were able to create and produce several different project aspects, such as a comprehensive COVID-19 report explaining what cities all over the nation were doing to combat COVID and homelessness. We also created surverys, a platform for storytelling and inform people in the community, like high school students about the imprtance of community change innitiatives. The report on COVID and homelessness initiatives can be found below
