Teaching Statement
-
Teaching is political and co-constructing meaning with students, at any level, fuels me. My purpose is understanding how my students and advisees conceptualize the world around them and generating a dynamic and democratic learning environment that sets them up for successful careers and meaningful lives. I empower them to think critically and creatively about their reality and, with a social justice lens, transform their world in ways that fit their developmental level and personal/cultural backgrounds.
