    1. The Advocate: The Advovate is a student newsletter for Denver Campus. It is sent out every Tuesday during the academic year and once a month during the summer. Take some time to review it on a weekly basis to learn about programming, volunteer opportunities, Registrar deadlines and social events!

    Fall Quarter 2021: October Student Programming

    • DU Campus Tours, October 19 from 1-2:30pm, Register Here 
      • Due to student requests, we are offering additional campus tours! Join the Assistant Dean for Students, Deana Ahmad, and the Student Engagement Coordinator, Jenna Sergio, to walk campus and learn about resources available to you as a student. It’s a great way to connect with peers too!


    • Fall Festival (Open to all GSSW Faculty, Staff and Students), October 21 from 4:00-5:30pm, Register Here
      • We invite you to join your GSSW classmates, faculty and staff for a celebration of community and the new school year. With warm drinks in our hands and a dance floor under our feet, we will gather outdoors on the Craig Hall Patio for fall treats, music, and togetherness.

    Dance Break with Shades of Brown Alliance, October 25 from 4-5pm: SOBA will be offering a dance break for all GSSW Students--snacks and drinks provided. This event will take place in Community Commons 2600. Register Here

    Autumn Wellness: Virtual Yoga with Kate Ross, October 26 from 11am-12pm, Join Here  

    Virtual Workshop with Health and Counseling Center, Wednesday, October 27 11am-12pm, Register Here  The Mental Health Coordinator for Health and Counseling Center will offer a virtual workshop on self care, wellness and mental health resources available to you as a student. 

    • GSA Hocus Focus Event, October 28, 2021 5:30pm (study and snacks), 7:00pm (Hocus Pocus Showing)
      • GSA is hosting a snack-laden community and study sesh at 5:30pm followed by a supremely spooky 7:00pm showing of the perennial favorite: Hocus Pocus! Enjoy festive drinks and snacks while you partake in self-(s)care crafts and revelry. Come in costume - IF YOU DARE. Best dressed gets a super-secret prize!

    DEI Dialogues with Dr. Michele Hanna:

    Associate Dean Hanna invites you to join your peers in dialogue about diversity, equity, and inclusion this week via zoom. This can be about your experiences at GSSW or a deeper dive into things you are learning in PPO and other classes related to DEI.  There are two opportunities and registration is required.   • ECO Concious

    Eco promotes conservation and environmental justice in the GSSW community and beyond by focusing on three critical goals: 1) educating and enlisting the DU community to use Earth'sresources responsibly, 2) fostering greater connection with Earth through opportunities to explore and enjoy nature 3) advocating for political change for environmental justice through organized action.

  • Graduate Student Association (GSA)

    GSA meetings are open to all students. GSA is comprised of an executive team (2 co-leaders, treasurer, and secretary), student organization leaders, class representatives and a number of other representatives from the student body. GSA organizes community events, provides conference scholarships, shares student concerns with GSSW leadership, and provides a forum for GSSW students to discuss issues that are of concern to them.

  • Phi Alpha

    As a national social work honor society, Phi Alpha seeks to provide a closer bond among social work students and to promote humanitarian goals and ideals. MSW student membership in GSSW's Xi Delta Chapter of Phi Alpha is based upon grade point average and adherence to the code of ethics established by the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). As a testament to our dedication to giving back to the local community, the Xi Delta chapter also encourages members to participate in community service activities.

    SOBA is a student organization that strives to offer a "safe place", supportive, and encouraging environment for all individuals of color, allies, staff, faculty, and alumni of GSSW to learn, voice, escape, mature and positively confront and address the issues people of color experience as a part of the GSSW experience.
