  • Teaching Philsophy

Over a lifetime, our philsophies of how people learn and how best to "teach" are impacted by great thinkers, experiences and reflection.   Freire to Dewey to Darling-Hammond to Wing Sue, I have been influenced by people who believe that learning is best done to achieve social justice and liberation.  From my own experiences, I have come to believe that people are motivated to learn in social situations in which their cognition is challenged and energized.  In reflection, I find that I change my thinking or my actions after intentionally contemplating how what I've done has impacted the world around me.
