  • The Visual Media Center (VMC) in the School of Art & Art History provides digital imaging services to faculty, staff, and graduate students for teaching, learning, and research purposes. The VMC is located in Shwayder Art Building (SAB), in Room 122.

    What we do:

    • Create digital images by request for inclusion in the visual resource collection. Anyone in the DU community can request to have still images made from print material, 35mm slides, or other sources. Visit the VMC in room 122 or contact us by email to find out how to request images. If you already know how to request images, download the image request form and bring it and your source to the VMC. There is usually a two-week turn-around time on requests of 20 images or fewer.

Visual resources at the University of Denver:

    • Access DU's Institutional Collections on Artstor, a digital image library with over 2.5 million images, and Jstor, digital library that provides access to more than 12 million journal articles, books, and images.
    • New to Artstor? Learn more about Artstor and how to create an account on the University Libraries Artstor Libguide, and read How to use Artstor by DU’s Office of Teaching and Learning. For further information, you can access help articles at Artstor Support.
    • DU faculty and students can also access digital images for classroom use through DU’s University Libraries, including AP Images (news and history images). DU Art Librarian Peggy Keeran’s Art and Art History Research Guide is a great resource for finding library images.
