As part of a growing sanctuary movement across the country following the election of president Trump, concerned students, staff, and faculty at the University of Denver have demanded that the university administration take substantive steps toward making DU a sanctuary campus.
While we understand the controversial nature of using the term "sanctuary", we believe that our shared commitments and efforts to vigorously protect the privacy and civil rights of all of our undocumented, international, marginalized, and persecuted community members are intended to establish and affirm our University campus as a safe and inclusive space in these uncertain times.
