    Featured Facilitator - Dick Reinish

From public affairs to politics, documentaries to foreign films, OLLI Platinum facilitator Dick Reinish has excited and educated OLLI members with more than nearly six dozen courses since 2011.

Dick’s wife, Barbara, who has also facilitated OLLI classes, was the director of OLLI at Northwestern prior to Dick and Barbara moving to Denver in 2011.  The two immediately joined OLLI at DU when they moved to Denver upon Dick’s retirement from an anti-trust law practice. Gordon Appell recruited Dick to facilitate “Is American in a Constant State of War” the next term and then Dick started facilitating Great Decisions classes.

“My wife said why don’t you do documentary films,” Dick said, “and then I added foreign films. Films are strictly a sharing experience.” (Look for his Fall 2022 online course, Five Foreign Films, on Wednesday afternoons.)

Nine years ago, Dick and fellow facilitator Sydney Meyer took on facilitating two Current Events courses each term. That means more than 50 courses over those nine years.

“It’s a form of relaxation for me,” said Dick. “Politics is something that interests and concerns me. And I love sports – baseball, basketball, football … and maybe a few others.”

Dick is a graduate of University of Michigan and Northwestern University School of Law.
