  • Meet Our Outstanding Facilitators

    Master facilitator Bill West holds a B.A. from Wesleyan University, an M.A. from Columbia University and a Ph.D. from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. During his career, Bill has been a professor of English at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and at University of Colorado at Denver. His academic specialty is 19th Century Victorian literature and the English novel. His popular classes cover literary masters from America, England, Europe and Russia.

    Diamond facilitator Gordon Appell has facilitated over 25 courses at OLLI at DU over the past 10 years, primarily in the area of Public Affairs.  He is a retired Denver city planner with a lifelong interest in foreign affairs. He has travelled extensively and studied abroad

    Senior facilitator Mike Prevedel has offered close to 15 courses in Religion and Philosophy.   He had a 30-year career as a high school teacher in the area of social studies and has been a part-tme instructor at Metropolitan State University Denver. He has a B.A. in history and an M.A. in International Relations.

    We are offering over 130 courses and webinars (approximately 50 in person at Central, South and West; and 80 online

    Our OLLI at DU Spring Term catalog will be posted on Monday, February 13 on our Portfolio site and will be emailed to you - make sure your email address is up-to-date.

    Registration begins on Monday, February 20 at 10 a.m.

    Registration is on a First-Come, First-Served basis and we will use a waiting list option.

    If you have experienced difficulties with registration, please watch for an email about an upcoming "How to Register" workshop in early February.

  • Weather Closure Announcements

  • OLLI at DU Central courses at First Universalist Church and Park Hill United Methodist Church will be cancelled if the Denver Public Schools (DPS) are closed.  Classes at First Plymouth Church will be cancelled if the Cherry Creek Schools are closed.  Classes at Ruffatto Hall on the DU Campus will be closed if DPS and/or DU are closed.

    Late Start: If the school district announces a late start, classes will be held as usual.

    Inservice Days: If the school district is closed for inservice during a snow day, there would be no announcement on the news.  In that event, check this website.
