Assuring academic success for all students, providing safe, caring learning environments and wisely managing resources remain the greatest challenges for schools. I seek opportunities to serve the educational community by being part of a collaborative team that helps prepare quality educators who have a passion to help all students succeed. Successful service at the university, school and district levels has prepared me to address these and other important educational concerns.
While modeling expectations that all people in the learning community are an integral part of the teaching and learning process, I try to create opportunities to dialogueto facilitate the finding of common ground needed to ensure that all students have equitable access to learning. My experience in group facilitation, teaching at many levels, problem solving and conflict management help me seek a shared vision that places an emphasis on rewarding excellence, recruiting and retaining quality teacher candidates, ensuring safe learning environments and providing compassionate and updated services to schools and districts.
From past experiences, I fully understand the challenges and opportunities associated with working in and leading a diverse, complex organization. I have worked in partnership with universities, school principals and staffs to ensure the creation of quality teacher candidates and staff, used data to successfully focus the teaching and learning process through evaluation and coaching and to evaluate programs. I have facilitated the development and implementation teacher performance evaluation systems and processes and understand performance rubrics and career stages.
