• Biographical Description

  • Kathy is the Director of Web-Based Learning in the Office of Teaching & Learning at the University of Denver (DU). She develops and facilitates online and flipped workshops for online and on-campus faculty. Kathy facilitates the Teaching Foundations Short Course, a Canvas course for new part-time instructors at the University of Denver. She also teaches online courses about teaching, learning and technology at Araphaoe Community College.

    Kathy's eLearning Blog tracks the latest trends in eLearning, Web 2.0, Educational Technology, MOOCs and more.

  • Qualifications

  • Kathy is a long-term member and former co-chair of the e-Learning Consortium of Colorado (formerly known as TELECOOP), an organization devoted to the enhancement of learning opportunities through distance learning.

    Kathy attended the University of Iowa and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Denver in 1996 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Business. She received an MA in Digital Media Studies from the University of Denver in 2003. Her thesis project topic was “Distance Education.”
