Kathy is the Director of Web-Based Learning in the Office of Teaching & Learning at the University of Denver. She is Sloan-C certified in online teaching and develops and facilitates Teaching Online Workshops for instructors new to online and hybrid/blended learning. Kathy is a long-term member and former co-chair of the e-Learning Consortium of Colorado, an organization devoted to the enhancement of learning opportunities through distance learning.
Kathy attended the University of Iowa and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Denver in 1996 with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Business. She received an MA in Digital Media Studies from the University of Denver in 2003. Her thesis project topic was “Distance Education.”

This is the Web site I developed for my MA Thesis Project in Digital Media Studies (2003). The goal of my project was to present a comprehensive overview of Distance Education through the development of an online course about distance education. The course applies the basic principles of adult learning theory, and focuses on student-centered learning activities.
