Raised in California just north of the San Francisco Bay, I ventured out to Colorado as DU undergraduate. After graduation I worked for a local non-profit dedicated to individuals with developmental disabilities. While I found my work as Coordinator deeply rewarding, the frustration of inadequate services and funding at a clinical level fuelled my decision to pursue a career in social work at a macro level. I headed to Boston College to obtain my Masters, concentrating in Older Adults. As a social worker, I have spent the last few years conducting research at the Institute for Health Research at Kaiser Permanente Colorado and the University of Denver. My research interests include public health, gerontology, and the use of technology interventions with older adults.
