The PJ/Heart Loving Bond Award
Dr. Aubrey Fine, a pioneer in the field of animal-assisted therapy, established the PJ/Hart Loving Bond Award in 2011, named in memory of his beloved therapy dog. Dr. Fine is viewed as an international ambassador for the field of Animal Assisted Therapy. His work and insight into the bond has placed him at the cutting edge in the field.
In 2018, the PJ/Hart Loving Bond Award will be given to two graduating MSW students in recognition of leadership in the field of animal-assisted social work. The recipient will have demonstrated compassion for animals, theoretical and application competencies in animal-assisted social work practice, with recognition for utilizing nationally endorsed, empirically supported and ethically sound best practice standards.
