  • Biographical Description

  • I am an Associate Professor in the School Psychology Program in the Morgridge College of Education at the University of Denver. I received my B.S. from Emory University in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology and Ph.D. from Georgia State University in School Psychology.

Broadly, my research, teaching, and service endeavors are grounded in the tenets of Disability Studies and Critical Race Theory (Dis/Crit). I have two strands of scholarshop (click the tabs to learn more):

    1. Educational and social disparities affecting youth with intellectual disabilities (ID), and
    2. School psychology frameworks that support equitable graduate training practices.

Across my research interests, I am committed to producing work that is socially just and increases the power of marginalized voices; impactful and useful to individuals, families, and those active in the field; and, accessible and bridges the research-to-practice gap.

Clinically, I have expertise in working with students with ID. I am a former high school special education teacher who worked with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I have certifications in Functional Behavioral Assessment and Treatment Plan Development, the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), and the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R). I am also a former Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) fellow.

When I am not working, I enjoy outdoor activities with my dogs, reading a good book, and finding delicious food!
