• 2019 University of Denver Summer Finance Conference

  • The Faculty of the Reiman School of Finance at the University of Denver are pleased to announce the 2019 University of Denver Regional Summer Finance Conference, which will go Breakfast  through dinner on Friday, September 6th, and breakfast through lunch on Saturday 7th. The goal of this conference is to provide a forum for feedback and networking among Denver-region finance researchers. The event will be hosted and catered by the internationally acclaimed Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality Management at the University of Denver. The dinner on Friday night will feature some of the most highly rated wines of Washington State, a throwback to the organizers days as a PhD student in Seattle. This conference thanks generous sponsorship of the Reiman Endowment Fund.

The conference will include nine papers, six on Friday, September 6th, and three on Saturday, September 7th.

Please check back periodically for updated information, SOME DETAILS CAN CHANGE.

There will be no registration fee for presenters, discussants, and session chairs. We have a limited number of slots for people to attend who are not discussing, session chairing, or presenting. Please reach out to the conference organizer, Andrew Detzel (andrew.detzel@du.edu), by July 30th if you would like to receive an invitation for one of these slots.

Special thanks to Harry Turtle and Conrad Ciccotello for providing invaluable advice and help with this conference.

  • Logistics

  • Please feel free to take the opportunity to explore Denver-area hotels. However, for those interested, we reserved a limited block of rooms available at a group rate of $119/night at the Holiday Inn Cherry Creek (group code will be emailed out when available). Generally hotels in the Cherry Creek area have great access to University of Denver. The Holiday Inn provides complimentary parking.

The conference will take place at the University of Denver, Joy Burns Center/Fritz Knoebel School of Hospitality (circled in the map). Complimentary parking will be provided (please email me for a pass), although DCB is also easily reached by light rail, bus, or Taxi/Uber. For convenience, a city map with DU is below, along with a campus map with parking and event locations. The paking pass should be good for lot H1/H2 circled in the attached map. From the parking garage, simply follow the trail on the west side of the garage northbound. The Joy Burns Center, also circled in the map, will be the third structure on the left. Joy Burns has a crimson and gold dome on top as well. You should see us after you walk in the building on the main (2nd) level.

  • While you're here

  • The University of Denver is officially an arboretum. If you are a nature-phile, I encourage you to check out our diverse collection of trees, mapped out here:
