  • Students' Professional Positions

    January 10, 2020: Jesse Cooper (RMS MA student) recently accepted a position at Douglas County School District as a Performance Analyst. In her new role she is analyzing assessment data and applying it in an evaluative lens to help inform school improvements. She writes, “I am very excited to be in this role and have already utilized much of my coursework to guide my practice!”

    March 15, 2020: Sid Maan (RMS Ph.D. student) has received an offer to serve as an intern for Johnson and Johnson this summer. In this role he will be doing multivariate benchmarking for a few of Janssen’s products and processes and then establishing multivariate control limits and other quality control type statistical tools for detecting special cause variation. He will also generate a guidance document that will instruct users how to use the tools he has created to evaluate future batches. Sid writes, “I am very excited to accept this role and have already utilized much of my coursework, particularly in ANOVA and Multivariate, to crack the interview and hopefully my coursework will guide me through the internship!”

    June 10, 2020: Sarah Mann (RMS MA student) has accepted a position with Rocky Mountain Human Services as their Quality Improvement Specialist. She will begin work on June 12, 2020.

    • Ciera Beers (MLIS student) received the Colorado Department of Education State Grant for Libraries for Westminster Public Schools ad Westminster academy for International Studies.
    • Karen Butler-Clary’s paper, “Archival Description and Access Points: Limitations of the Library of Congress and the Problem of Publication” was selected as one of the three winning papers at the Research Paper Competition at the Mountain Plains Museums Association (MPMA) Conference. Karen presented her paper at the MPMA Conference in Denver on October 18, 2017.
    • Micah Saxton  (MLIS student) received Student Research Award from the SIG AH and SIG VIS of the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) for his paper “Classifying Documents with a Topic Model.”
