  • About Me

  • The road to where I am now...

My name is Jessica Villena Sanchez, and I am an Adjunct Faculty and fifth year PhD candidate in the Geography Department at the University of Denver. I am originally from Mexico City and I  moved to Denver to pursue my PhD.

My research interests are in Transport Geography and Urban Geography. Specifically, my PhD dissertation looks at mobility issues of older adults in Mexico City from a mixed methods approach.

Besides being a full time student, I also work as a TA in the Geography Department. This position has given me the opportunity to improve my teaching skills as I train to become a better professor to my future students.

My favorite hobbies include visitig cat shelters, eating sushi and ice cream, and taking long walks while I listen to podcasts.
